Information for Prospective or New Residents

To reserve and hold a room at Methodist International House, Bristol:

A £250 booking/damages deposit is required for all medium and long stay residents.
At least £25 for 1 week stay or at least £50 for 2 to 3 weeks.

This should be paid to MIH as soon as possible after your place is confirmed by MIH and you agree to go ahead with the contract, or else the room could be allocated to someone else.

To Clarify once you have arrived:

• £20 is key deposit, refunded upon key return.
• £230 is a damages deposit and also covers miscellaneous items. This is usually refunded off your final payment if all is well, or upon return of the extra items whichever is the later.

NB An Internet Connection Deposit may also be required if your computer does not have this facility built in already.

Deposit refund in the event of a cancellation.

• If cancel more than 4 weeks in advance all, but £50 admin fee is refunded. (eg. out of £250 = £200 returned to you).
• If cancel more than 3 but less than 4 weeks in advance, all but £100 is refunded.
• If cancel more than 2 but less than 3 weeks in advance, all but £150 is refunded.
• If cancel less than 2 weeks in advance, or you are a no show, then there is no refund. You may also be liable for up to a month’s room fees as if you had turned up
• Where the total deposit paid is less than the retained amount specified above: then the whole deposit is forfeit.

NB The Distance Selling Regulations (2000) may entitle you to a full refund of your deposit if you cancel within 7 days of making the commitment to MIH and your arrival was not expected within a few days of making that commitment.
